‘Posts and Landscapes’ - Marc Jacobson
In a series of landscapes produced over many years, Marc explored - again and again - the personal emotional experience of the push and pull of space, amplified through a particular ordering/proportioning of shapes. Some years ago that emotive aim led to framing works with thicker rails on the top and bottom, and thin stiles along the sides.
The recent non-objective ‘Posts’ grew out of that same mysterious stew. All three approaches are represented in this first showing of these paintings.
